Dear supporters, family and friends of Serendipity,
Our Campaign of “One Community” at a time took us to Dausayi, a community we discovered with virtually little or no access to safe clean drinking water, their source of water is a pond, two open tube wells and one hand pump that stopped working for the past one and a half year, pursuant to our vision to provide access to water for the vulnerable and orphans in rural communities of Northern Nigeria in line with fulfilling SDG Goal 6, our campaign is centered on rehabilitating broken down hand pumps, installing covers for the tube wells and new hand pumps and ventilated improved pit latrines in schools and market square.
During the just concluded Little by Little campaign, with your kind donation we were able to fix the only hand pump in Dausayi community and it was a big relief with so much joy from the children to have water that is clean and safe for drinking.
We have till date rehabilitated a total of 5 handpumps in two communities thus far providing succor and relief. We are grateful for the confidence you have reposed in us to provide access to safe clean drinking water to communities in Kano and to carry on the good work. We intend to achieve before the year end to installed three new hand pumps and rehabilitate five more hand pumps in two more additional communities in Tofa and Kumbotso Local Governing Council after which we will go into hygiene trainings to ensure the communities are knowledge in good hygiene practices to prevent water borne diseases.
However, we can only do this with your continued support and kind donations such that the dire straits we are currently in will be a thing of the past and we achieve 65% of access to water and sanitation. We say a BIG THANK YOU thus far for your kind donations and support to our cause being a partner in making the lives of children in rural communities of Kano better.
