Help a Child: Provide Access to Water in Nigeria

Dear Supporters, Friends and Family of Serendipity,

Children in Malamawa Community in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area in Kano walk everyday to the pond on the outskirts of their community to fetch water that is dirty, filled with waste from animals and algae, this is because the only handpump cited in the community that is serving a population of over 3000 persons broke down over 5 years ago.

They have been going to the pond everyday for the past five years and do not attend school and fall ill due to drinking such water thus not being useful to themselves or to the community. Not getting access to safe clean drinking water will make the situation worse as the children will not have a life instead only fight everyday for survival. The community could not fix the hand pump due to low financial capacity and lack of knowledge of what to do or the technical know how of fixing the hand pump.

In our goal to ensure that communities get access to safe clean drinking water, we rehabilitated the only hand pump in the community with your kind donations, where we changed 5 pipes that was rusted to new ones and 1 casing however with as little as $25 a month you can contribute to ensure that we rehabilitate a hand pump gone bad or $1000 to install a new hand pump in our communities because water is life and there are so many communities that do not have access to safe clean drinking water.
