Dear Supporters, Friends and Family of Serendipity,
It has never been difficult like the past couple of years in Nigeria as the country is fraught with communal clashes, banditry, domestic and gender violence worsened with the onset of COVID which exposed the vulnerability of our primary healthcare centers in rural communities because there is a lack of adequate facilities, little or no health personnel, our education system gyrating into collapse and more families facing poverty as a result of economic recession in the country and inflation.
This has necessitated us at Serendipity as a healthcare humanitarian organization to help our rural communities in dire need of intervention on healthcare issues inclusive of pandemics, COVID 19 being a part of our goal.
We have launched an educative program in our local language on two radio channels on COVID 19 protocols of washing hands with soap and water, wearing of face masks, observing safe distance, avoiding crowded spaces and also the need for vaccination. During our research we found out that there is a knowledge gap on COVID and its effects in our rural communities hence the program in the local language. We have a goal in the coming year to ensure our communities stay safe and healthy.
With your kind donation we built four new tube wells in Kiru, Karaye and Takai and also distributed COVID 19 materials and palliatives were given to 30 children in three local government areas of Kano (Dawakin Tofa, Bagwai and Bichi) inclusive of Face Masks, bags of rice, liters of cooking oil, cartons of noodles, bags of salt, liquid soap and hand sanitizers. The most vulnerable in the communities were identified and we have a goal to reach additional 10,000 families in Northern Nigeria that have been displaced and the poor.
The holidays are coming and a monthly recurring donation between the 13th of December till 18th of December 2021 will be matched 100% on donations from $200 or a gift card for a loved one will go a long way to ensure that we attain your goal of ensuring our children stay safe and healthy because they are the future generation and we must do all we can to ensure they live and not survive in making our world a better place.
