Dear Friends, Family and supporters of Serendipity,
We introduce to you Government Girls Arabic Secondary School, Tanawa Kura, Kano in Northern Nigeria. This is one of our newly adopted schools to provide interventions bordering on Water and Sanitation, STEM Activities and Entrepreneurship. GGASS has a total population of 2601 students (morning and afternoon section) cutting across JSS 1 to SSS 3 classes with a minimum number of 50 students per class.
GGASS was a beneficiary of the MDG project by the Federal Government for access to water (a motorized system), donation of Desk top computers by a charity organization (Solar Powered). The project was a success for a while but for three years now they were relying on hand pump powered borehole that was not dug well and thus bringing out dirty water and the solar powered Desk top computer stopped working as the batteries installed, inverter and charge controller were damaged and dried out.
Their school laboratory where they are learning Physics, Chemistry and Biology is no longer operational as the equipment are outdated and the entrepreneurship department on agriculture has no tools and resources in the classes to learn with.
They actually have to seat down on the floor to learn!
We launched an appeal on our pages to you our kind donors to solve their issues, (see our appeal a month ago on https://youtu.be/2zB_EK3hOxM ) and today we are proud to say that with your generous donations we have installed two new tubular batteries of 240KVA, one 240KVA Inverter and one charge controller and it powers both the entire ICT department, the entire school and provide access to water at a cost of $1000 only. Now our girls can have safe clean drinking water and study all things technology.
We say a very BIG THANK YOU!! Because you care we have made a double impact on our girls on access to water, electricity to the entire school and powering the ICT department. Thank you once again!!
Follow our stories on our social media handles and website to be updated as we go along with our girls on Facebook/serenhealthcare, Instagram/serendipityHea1, Twitter/serendipityHea1 or our website on Https://www.serendipityhealthcare.org.in
See work we have done thus far in our links and pictures.
Thank you so much for your continued support as we want every girl child not to be left behind!!
Your faithfully,
Samirah Faruk
