ambakofi plan to drill two deep wells in Mkange and Mihuga villages in Bagamoyo District, East of Tanzania. Each project site has 50 acres of land affected by deforestation. The two deep wells will provide water for implementing afforestation activities. Through the Agroforestry approach, the project will restore back the lost forests, conserve the soil, provides foods, fruits, fodder and generate income to more than 80 rural farmers who currently their farmland is affected by shortage rain.

Report for 2015 warns deforestation could cost Tanzania's national economy of TSH. 5.6 trillion ($2.5 billion) by the year 2033. More than 400 small scale farmers families in Mkange and Mihuga Villages living adjacent to the proposed forest restoration project area affected by climate changes impacts. The project will reach them to improve the environment and livelihood.
ambakofi will work with the small scale farmers in Mkange and Mihuga villages to restore 100 acres of land through agroforestry way. The deep wells drilled in the project site will be used to provide water for serving the planted woods and fruits trees, bananas, pineapples, green vegetables, bamboo, spices crops, legumes, sweet potatoes, and fodder for their livestock. Beneficiaries will be trained agroforestry farming to practice on their private farms and the management of water in farming.
100 small scale farmers, from both villages, will be skilled to add the value of organic non-wood agroforests products. To enable them to produce, store and sell food crops, fruits, spices, vegetables at a reasonable price throughout the year. Beneficiaries will be trained on how to store fodder to feeds livestock during the dry season, and treat bamboo to use as building materials and make products. The eco-friendly community surrounded by agroforests will revive the land and kick-off poverty.
