Water4Life Project Report – Nepal
The Water4Life Project, implemented by Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal, is a humanitarian initiative focused on providing safe and clean drinking water to underserved communities across the districts of Sunsari, Morang, Siraha, and Saptari.
In many rural areas of Nepal, access to clean water remains a serious challenge, exposing communities to waterborne diseases and daily hardship—especially for women and children who often travel long distances to collect water. This project directly addresses these issues by installing sustainable hand pumps and ensuring safe water access at the community level.
Using a structured approach that includes needs assessment, site selection, professional drilling, water quality testing, and community handover, the project ensures both effectiveness and long-term sustainability. Local community members are trained to maintain the hand pumps, creating a sense of ownership and responsibility.
To date, the project has successfully installed 101 hand pumps, benefiting approximately 2,600 individuals. With a total fund utilization of USD 20,215, the project has delivered measurable impact, including improved health, better hygiene practices, and reduced burden on women and children.
Despite challenges such as remote accessibility, adverse weather conditions, and rising costs, the project has continued to make meaningful progress. Communities now experience improved sanitation, increased productivity, and a better quality of life.
