Water4Life Project Update – Nepal
By Md. Hamid | Project Leader
Dear Supporters,
We are pleased to share another meaningful update from the Water4Life Project in Nepal. Thanks to your generous support, five vulnerable families have now received reliable water facilities close to their homes.
Before these installations, the families did not have a dependable water source on their own premises. They often relied on shared or distant water points, making the collection of water difficult and time-consuming. This daily burden particularly affected women, children, elderly family members, and people with limited mobility.
After conducting household assessments and verifying the families’ needs, the field team of Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal selected suitable locations and completed the necessary drilling and installation work. Each water facility was carefully installed and tested before being handed over to the beneficiary family.
The five new facilities are now helping the families obtain water more easily for drinking, cooking, washing, personal hygiene, and other essential household needs. Having water available near their homes saves valuable time, reduces physical hardship, and supports cleaner and healthier living conditions.
One beneficiary shared:
“Previously, we had no water facility at our home and had to depend on water from elsewhere. Now we can obtain water close to our house. This has made our daily life much easier. We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported us.”
The families have also been encouraged to take responsibility for the proper use, cleanliness, and basic maintenance of their water facilities. This community ownership will help keep the installations functional and beneficial for many years.
These five installations are part of our wider Water4Life initiative, which provides different types of water facilities according to the needs of each location. These include household hand pumps as well as larger community water systems with drinking-water points, washing areas, and ablution facilities.
Although this latest achievement has transformed daily life for five families, many other low-income households in rural Nepal still lack reliable access to water near their homes.
Your generosity is helping us address this essential need, one family and one community at a time.
Thank you for giving these families greater dignity, improved hygiene, and easier access to one of life’s most basic necessities.
With sincere appreciation,
Md. Hamid
