The Harvest Is In - And It Is Historic

By Madjalia Seynou | Executive Director

Dear Valued Supporters,

As we close out 2025, we are writing to you with full hearts and overflowing fields — and it is entirely because of you.

Since our last update in November, your generosity has continued to transform lives in the communities of Simbri and Ouda in Burkina Faso. We want to bring you fully up to date on what your investment has made possible.

 The Harvest Is In

The 2025 growing season yielded our most diverse harvest to date. Across our project sites, women farmers successfully brought in rice, cowpeas, cabbage, soybeans, African eggplant, and corn, a breadth of production that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago in these drought-prone communities.

But this year brought two new milestones we are especially proud to share:

  • Wheat is now growing in our fields, introduced for the first time this cycle, this crop represents a bold expansion of our agricultural portfolio and a major step toward year-round nutritional diversity.
  • Watermelon has taken root in Simbri, and tangelo trees have been planted in Ouda , both part of our long-term agroforestry and income diversification strategy. The tangelo trees in particular will provide harvests for years to come, building lasting wealth for women farmers and their families.

These are not just new crops. They are new streams of income, new sources of nutrition, and new proof that regenerative agriculture can flourish even in one of the world's most climate-vulnerable regions.

Water Is the Foundation of Everything

Today, more than 10,000 people have access to clean drinking water. This infrastructure does double duty: it supports daily health and household needs, and it powers our irrigation systems, enabling our farmers to grow crops during the dry season when fields would otherwise sit empty.

How You Can Keep This Growing

Every seed planted, every well drilled, every kilogram of compost produced, it all starts with you. Here is how you can help us carry this momentum forward:

  • Give Monthly: A recurring gift, even a small one, helps us plan with confidence and act without delay.
  • Share Our Story: Tell someone about our work. Awareness is the first step toward action.
  • Fundraise With Us : Share this fundraising page and challenge your network to join the movement.

What you have helped build here is not charity. It is transformation, community by community, harvest by harvest, woman by woman.

Thank you for being part of it.

With deep gratitude,
