This project will train Kenyan workers to enhance their skills in welding and metal fabrication. With this training, they will be able to compete for highly-skilled jobs because of their training in both the American Welding Society and International Building Code standards. Along with enhancing workers' skills, this also increases local businesses to compete using established international standards. This has a tremendous impact on the local economy.
Presently, with limited high-quality vocational training in the country, construction and technical jobs are going to foreign companies. With a lack of highly skilled workers, building projects have little benefit to the local population economically. By establishing our Polytechnical Institute, we can reverse this trend, giving nationals the competence to compete for highly-skilled jobs and significantly improving their economic status and the local economy.
Foundation Builders International is bringing in a team of qualified instructors with experience in metal fabrication and welding from an industrial perspective. Our team will be meeting with the tradespeople in their present work environment and using on the job training to enhance their current job skills and help them rise to a higher level of competency as we teach from the American Welding Society's training manuals, as well as, IBC requirements
By establishing our Polytechnical Institute, we can reverse this trend of worker deficiency, giving nationals the competence to compete for highly-skilled jobs, and significantly improving their economy and physical structure. This will result in improving the quality of life both on a personal level and in the local economy.
