Challenge

CHAT needs a reliable wheelchair accessible vehicle to help get prospective residents and their belongings to their lease signings and move ins. CHAT clients have typically lost connections to friends and family and other community supports, making attending scheduled meetings challenging.

Solution

A vehicle would allow quicker intake of new residents, and give current residents the opportunity to attend CHAT sponsored workshops at our main office. These workshops focus on parenting and better tenanting skills, financial education and other activities which will help them toward their long term independence and life goals.

Long-Term Impact

Residents who are more independent will be more likely to be able to move to an independent housing solution with less need for further CHAT support. This in turn will allow CHAT to focus on serving new clients.
