Challenge

As lots of sports facilities have been destroyed during the war in Ukraine, children and youth were deprived of the opportunity to train, socialize with their peers and integrate into society, engage in activities that promote health and physical development, as well to distract themselves from the war and the unprecedented hardships and losses they face on a daily basis. The White Panther Cup is a chance for young Ukrainian athletes to prove themselves and start a successful career in sport.

Solution

The organization of sports competitions, promotion of practising sports and involvement of children and youth in sports activities in Ukraine will contribute to the improvement of the well-being of children and young people, help them socialize, support their mental and physical health. We believe that sport has a great power to unite children and youth, help them find strength, self-confidence and support in difficult moments of life, even during the war in their country.

Long-Term Impact

Every child and young person deserves to exercise their rights to social and economic security, physical and mental health, recreational and cultural opportunities, and the preservation of their identity and language, along with opportunities for learning and personal development. The proposed project may become an important precedent of how sports activities influence the social activity of children, their desire to learn, develop and influence their own lives regardless of the circumstances.
