Empower a Girl: For Self-Reliance

Dear Donors/supporters/advocates, 

Kindly inform that: the organization you are supporting/contributing or advocating for (Kole Intellectual Forum), is a Community Based organization that was established by the professional sons and daughters of Northern Uganda; with the intention of broadly contribute towards post conflict reconstruction of their region; that had, suffered in all the sectors during the civil war that devastated the region for decades.

However, more specifically, after a baseline survey conducted by Kole Intellectual Forum in Kole district in 2016; the findings indicated education sector was heavily affected; and because of that, they decided to put much emphasis in: improving on quality education of the majority of children of the common men in government aided primary schools in Kole district; particularly, and they have started with Apedi and Angic primary schools.

Although, for the last 3 years, the organization has not yet got any assistance from anybody or institution; its members, through their memberships' contributions; they have endeavored to: integrate community to these schools and those schools to the community; provide tests to these children; motivate teachers, children and parents to play their different respective duties; and give scholarships to some children.

Hope

At present, the organization is optimistic that: it will do better than before, because during their GlobalGiving crowd funding fundraising campaign that started on the 12th March and is ending on the 30th of the same month; the organization has managed to raised about $1000 from the overwhelmingly donors (more than 30 of them). This has impressed them and they are Hopeful that: through the memberships' funds, and those on the donors in our pool; together the more they are still expecting others; they are strongly believing that, reconstruction of the region educationally is not far from near.

Indicators

With the intervention of the organization; the, 

Performance of the children have improved on those schools;

Community are integrated to schools and schools to the community;

Children are eating at schools;

Parents are being engaged in livelihood projects; among others.

Challenges

The organization, in its three years of operation; it has witnessed that: the challenges it is facing to transform the society to meet the international standard of education at the post conflict area of Northern Uganda; circumnavigates around inadequate resources and negative altitudes
