Empower a Girl: For Self-Reliance

In the view of Kole Intellectual Forum, through its main activity of conducting an action research, the organization reveals that: “Research is one way that can enable somebody to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought of...” 

In an attempt to investigate the best approach that can enable Boys & Girls of the post war area of Northern Uganda, at Angic village, Kole District, to succeed in life, from within and without the school; the organization, is convening an number of consultation meetings with elders of the same area to establish what everybody else has been seeing and to think what nobody else has ever thought of before in this area.

The leading question was that: why were the Boys & Girls of this area successful in the Pass, and what is wrong NOW?

According to the elders consulted from Angic cell, Kole district, Northern Uganda; by a representative from Kole Intellectual Forum, they had these to say:

• they described the pass as those days before colonization;
• they noted that during those days, there were no formal education; but, rather informal ones;
• in informal educaton, they further explained; there were no classrom, the trainers were elders that had experience in everything they were instructing the young ones to do; and they concluded that: by that time, every learner were sucessful; there was no question of no job, no issue of failing the subject; so long as the learners were phsyically and morally up right.
• they also observed that, with modernization, a lot has improved; but, suprisingly, there is a lot to be discussed on job problems, issues about children failing to perform; in otherwords they said, today, there is a lot theory lessons than practical that had not been the case before during the informal training.

With these findings established and analyzed by Kole Intellectual Forum in an attempt to see that: research impact every life of every child in the community of Angic village in Kole District Northern Uganda; especially girl child and also boys on the other hand; the organization at present campaigning  vigorously on two project cycles within its main project on GlobalGiving website to promote potential and sustainable education; and the these project cycles are:
