Dear patrons,
Fund being re-allocated to prevent COVID-19
Be rest assured that: every fund received from any source to our organization (Kole Intellectual Forum); including that, that is being received from that of GlobalGiving platform is allocated for the purpose asked for; any diversion of any fund from our organization's core purpose to another activity is strictly being done so with permission from the members of the board resolution as per the guideline of the organization’s financial policy attached.
Following need assessment from our communities and from the resolution from the members of Board from the time of World Health Organization's declaration to a complete lockdown to all the countries around world; we found out that, there was need to modify the organization’s activities from promoting quality, sustainable and potential education to include promoting hygiene in Uganda in the area where our organization is operation (post war area of Northern Uganda); particularly, by providing our community, district COVID-19 task force, and health centers within Kole district with Face masks and liquid soap to help prevent the spread of the scourge.
However, as time is moving on, as to compare from the time of early declaration of the pandemic in March, 2020 by WHO; in Uganda the situation is moving from better to worst in terms of total cases reported although there is still no death that has so far being reported. For instance, in the early March, 2020 in Uganda, less than 100 people were affected; but today, as of June 8, 2020, there are about 616 cases that has been recorded according to worldometers (2020).
Given that: Uganda is among the 3rd world countries with little capacity in term of resources to handle the pandemic as to compare to the developed countries; the team of Kole Intellectual Forum has recommended that: prevention of the spread of virus would be the best option. with report from the chair person, Kole Distric COVID-19; the organization is authentically observant to report that: there is an urgent need to support the team with 2 motorcycles and one tent at collection center.
Kole Intellectual Forum therefore requesting its donors to help them raise fund from GlobalGiving platform to be donated to Kole District COVID-19 Task Force to support its activities within the district.
