Empower a Girl: For Self-Reliance

The project leader, Kole Intellectual Forum, George Obua, recovering from the accident that occurred on him on the 18/12/2021; talking to their students at the opening of the new term on the 4/01/2021 and he had 4 tips that he gave them that he felt can help them to start the new term and New Year 2021 in an organized manner. He acknowledged that: these tips will help them feel prepared and ready to take on upcoming assignments at the Institute of Kole Intellectual Forum with confidence. 

1. He argued them to set up a time for reflection in their life

That is, a moment that he felt that, every student should set aside to give her brain an opportunity to pause amidst the chaos, untangle and sort out her past activities, words and deeds through observations and experiences, considering multiple possible interpretations, and create meaning in their life and discard what is disadvantage in their life; taking into account that, this meaning should become learning process in their life, which can then inform their future mindsets and actions

2. to set up positive, realistic goals for the term

He further asserted that: every student should in line to the organizational mission, set up positive, realistic goals for the new term; this can be achieve when you set your personal goals and dedicate yourself to achieving these goals that can help you stay motivated and help you to achieve the results that you want and the best approach is to set them when one is feeling refreshed and re-energized at the starting of the new term.He advise the girls to write their goals down and stick on to them; and ensure they check on them every day, as a reminder of what they are aiming at.

3. Find a good study space

He further advised girls too, to create a designated area for their study where they can focus and limit distractions; especially their classroom where they can feel comfortable, alert and focused. They should also ensure they make their study space and dormitory very clean and tidy at the start of the term. With this, he believes success is the summation of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Find your free access

4. Use school planners and calendars

One of the most important things to do to get organized he elaborated that; is about managing your time wisely. If you haven’t got one already, get a yearly planner and fill it out with the important dates for the year, he advised. As assignments and exam dates come in, keep your planner updated. This will give you a good visual of what you have to come up with and what you need to work around.

Once your planner is updated, make sure it is somewhere you will never fail to see it – especially, on the wall above your desk or near the front door of your dormitory room for constant reinforcement.
