Empower a Girl: For Self-Reliance

After acquiring a Masters Degree in Sustainable Peace and Conflict Management form one of the prominent University in Uganda in the name of Uganda Martyrs University; the founder member of Kole Intellectual Forum (photo above) narrated about his success story to the organizational principal secretary. He narrated that: in the beginning of building the organization, he ensured that, he influenced the minds of other four members (Intellectuals) which are also the indigenous children of Kole District in various disciplines of academic to enable them to support his idea to start up a Community Based Organization with the intention to help them contribute towards the post conflict reconstruction of their region of Northern Uganda in reference to 2015 documents found in the district of Kole; through, action research, modern Telecommunication system and entrepreneur skills.

A campaign that was broadly accepted by the identified academicians (the four) and in 2016 in reference to Kole District 2015's documentations and communities; the campaign started straight away in Kole District sector by sector and the findings revealed that the waste & most affected sector by war (Civil war) was education sector; detailed further as public primary schools with Angic public primary standing as the waste performing of all the public primary schools in Kole District; hence, the team of Kole Intellectual Forum intervened in that school since 2016; the journey that took the organization for close to 5 years; when the organization is investigating issues after the issues; and we are grateful the organization has used the 3 principles or guidelines that it stands for meaningful outcomes.

Action research, poor performance, a least quality education has been realized, high rate of dropouts has been replaced by sustainability at schools, potentiality too has been explored into; hence, as of now within 5 years of the intervention , the organization is advocating for quality, sustainable and potential education and on top of that: the district of Kole has also found out the potentiality in the organization and it has mandated it to start organizing what the authorities called Kole District Education Review meetings and Conferences. No sooner than later, the organization is planning to take over the task as soon as it identify the fund to address it.

Furthermore, other Non-governmental organizations has shown interest to work with Kole Intellectual Forum in the field of research; from 2018, the organization has been working with TWAWEZA East Africa now UWEZO Uganda as Kole District partner’s organization including Youth Alive and Apac Anti-Corruption organization.

However, in reference to Modern Telecommunication system, the organization has used the different telecommunication devices to explore into the world; a move that enable her to discover GlobalGiving platform, a platform that the organization has been given alive partnership and it is the largest source of fund for the organization that is supporting its mission. From 2018 to date the organization take it that, height still remains the limit for the organization on the platform

Meanwhile regarding the entrepreneurship skills, the organization is building the consensus to see that: the children that are dropping out of the schools because of the inability of the parents to engage in another level of education are committed into entrepreneurship skills. Boys in 2019 are skilled in welding fabrication skills while at present girls are being engaged in skills of home economics.

These are the practical success story of the founder member of Kole Intellectual Forum that can be viewed in reality. Thank you to be that that is supporting these causes. BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!!!!
