KAMPALA, UGANDA - Uganda on 6/6/2021 has re-imposed a 42-day lockdown as coronavirus infections surge for the second time in the East African country since Global declaration in 2020. President of the country, His Excellency Yoweri Museveni said on that day’s night address that he was threatened of the deaths toll of the people from the surge in the country, and he claimed he fear the situations of the country if nothing is done may worsen. For instance, he said, earlier that Friday, the Health Ministry shared the latest coronavirus figures indicating 1,564 new cases recorded in the previous 24 hours. That included 42 new deaths, bringing the total to 584 people and about one thousand four active cases have been admitted at various health facilities around the country.
This forced the President to call for total lockdown giving rooms to only few sensitive areas like food shops, hospitals, cargo vehicles, among others.
Given the situation at hand, and with directives from members of Board of Kole Intellectual Forum; through its Institute of Home Economic, the organization has allocated some fund that is being received from the platform of GlobalGiving to started making more Facemasks and liquid soap to be distributed to the 11 Health Centers of Kole District as it had been doing before during the threats of the same various.
