According to the purpose of establishing a prison, the vast majority of inmates at prisons across the globe are expected to return to a society they coming from; when they are reformed after serving their due sentence; with the hope that, by the time they are reintegrating into their different respective society, they would embark on productive activities and avoid being a burden to all including somebody that could have participated in jailing him/her.
Unfortunately, the situation in most of these prisons across the globe is alarming; including the case in Uganda especially at this time when the world is faced with the pandemic of COVID-19 despite the fact that: every government is trying to improve on the standard of their inmates; particularly, providing the necessary facilities to fight against the pandemic still remains a big concern.
