Kole Intellectual Forum (KIFA), a Community Based Organization situated in Northern Uganda that views vulnerable people as those that are targeted to fight for their own poverty reduction or problems; by using a Community-driven development (CDD) approach. In contrast, according to them, they treat the vulnerable people and their institutions as assets and partners in the development process. During their (Kole Intellectual Forum’s) 6 years of experience in service delivery to the vulnerable people; they witnessed that, when given clear rules of the game, access to information and appropriate support, vulnerable people can effectively organize themselves to provide goods and services that meet their immediate priorities.
Through this approach, as a community-led organization that is community driven; Kole Intellectual Forum, today and ever been engaging the community that they are working with, particularly those at Angic upper and Lower cell in Bala Sub-County, Kole District, Northern Uganda deeply and respectfully so that they can change their local beliefs and practices that may be enabling them cause harm to their children; and, this journey has led toward a better child protection and designing of Institute of Home Economics at Kole Intellectual Forum after quality and sustainable education has been realized at Angic public primary school where majority of their children are going.
