Given the global threats (COVID-19) that led to locking down of many countries including schools almost in all countries; undoubtedly, we cannot deny the truth that, despite the fact that all higher Institutions and Universities in Uganda have been granted the permission to reopen by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda on the November1, 2021 (Kaguta Museveni); tha:t we are still overwhelm with a number of fears of facts - COVID-19
The team leader – Kole Intellectual Forum – met the parents and the students of their Institute of Home Economics on the 6/11/2021 in an attempt to clear the doubts; and they both, parents and the students resolved that their Institute should be reopened on the 10/11/2021 at 10:00 am East African Time; but they advised the Administration of the Institute to watch out and ensure all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for COVID-19 to be carefully observed.
Parents also demanded for one way of owning the project and they decided to be part of the project by contributing 20kgs of beans, 30kgs of Maize and about $10 per child by semester (17 weeks) to help the organization cater for the welfare of their children and avoid on depending on donors 100% - they hope for the sustainability of the project since the leaders of Kole Intellectual Forum is hoping to train and employ their childrenunder their program of social enterprise.
With those in place, Kole Intellectual Forum is fearlessly at present in full preparation to welcome their students at their Institute of Home Economics on that date and ran the program effectively.
