Empowering Girls through Games and Sports
After books and scholarly research by a signed professional team of Kole Intellectual Forum; and having found out that, sport is an important social and economic empowerment tool, especially to girls and women; because, according to them, they noted that: sport can make them acquire new professional networks, develop a sense of identity and access new opportunities to become more engaging in school and community life; as well as making them to build their self-esteem, courage and self-efficacy; in that same finding, the team further revealed that: sport can also help the girls to take up leadership positions whenever they would be.
Kole Intellectual Forum, a Community Based Organization in Uganda, whose core principle is built within empowering girls to enable them to fight for the rights all the times in Uganda; after being informed by the team of this research and its outcomes; the organization decided to implement the recommendations given in this research by equipping these girls with sport gazettes that are motivating them (the girls) to participate in different kind of sports including football.
