KIFA: studying a Global Concern about WEPs
KIFA stands for Kole Intellectual Forum while WEPs means Women’s Empowerment Principles.
To empower its concern about Empowering a Girl: For self-Reliance in Uganda; Kole Intellectual Forum is practically searching into details the tools and materials those are relevant to the attainment of successes.
The organization – Kole Intellectual Forum – has noticed that: Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a primary vehicle for corporate delivery on the gender equality dimensions of the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; and that, the fifth principle focuses specially on enterprise development and responsible supply chains; meanwhile nearly 3,700 CEOs in over 140 countries have endorsed and committed to these principles. And that: Within the G7, Japan is the country with the highest number of WEPs signatory companies with 260 signatories, followed by the United States with 170 signatories, and Canada with 79 signatories. Public commitment to women’s economic empowerment that that Kole Intellectual Forum finds itself on board, it translates into concrete actions and transformative workplace policies that can further progress in achieving gender equality in all areas of the WEPs.
Jointly developed by UN Women, the UNGC, the Multilateral Investment Fund of the IDB and the Inter-American Investment Corporation, the WEPs Gender Gaps Analysis Tool provides companies with self-diagnostic tool to enable them to assess where they are on the WEPs journey. The WEPs platform offers companies a series of briefs, tools, case studies and leaders’ interviews to help signatories in implementing the WEPs. With support from donations from GlobalGiving, Kole Intellectual Forum is grateful to ensure that it fully engage their staff into studying those tools so that it can help them in the empowering their girls at the Institute of Home Economics.
