Integrating Home Economics into Knowledge
That is, instead of Institute of Home Economics it will be called the Great Institute of Knowledge
At Kole Intellectual Forum, we have learnt that: Learning happens when new knowledge is acquired, processed and retained in memory for later use; and, that, there are two types of memory those are important for learning in the field of knowledge: working memory and long-term memory those are rear cases to anywhere other that it would be in this Great Institute of Knowldge. And so often, we do learn by using working memory to focus on and process new information, allowing us to connect it to what we already know. Under the right conditions, this information (including knowledge of facts, concepts and procedures) is then transferred to long-term memory, where it is stored as knowledge within a mental model that reflects understanding of that area of learning. Once stored, recalled and used enough to consolidate the memory, knowledge from long-term memory can be retrieved for use and further learning. An ideal concept Kole Intellectual Forum would love pursue in the Great Institute of Knowledge.
The Institut is assuming that: As knowledge is stored in long-term memory, students will be building increasingly complex mental models and they will be doing this by retrieving stored knowledge from long-term memory, where it can be processed and connected in working memory with other new or remembered information to generate deeper understandings and ideas. Long-term memory is like a vast network of connected ideas that we’ve learned and things that we have experienced over time. If we skill our students in such situation, we expect them to have this network which will provide them will a foundation that will draw them to support their capacity for higher-order thinking and problem solving approach
