A plan for projects sustainability
Given a general global economic hardship, couple with limitation in the donation to the projects across the globe; Kole Intellectual Forum is having a sleepless night to devise a means of planning for project sustainability; by seeing how they can shift from direct aid to finding ways of empowering their communities to develop sustainable solutions; particularly, they are building capacity, fostering community ownership, and gradually transitioning programs to the projects to ensure they identify a long-term plans for the project sustainability. They are treating this, as a multifaceted approach that requires careful planning, assessment, and collaboration.
And what they are doing is to understand the communities’ specific needs, assets, and resources within their locations; ensure that their programs are relevant and can meet their needs; recognize and act upon the existing skills, knowledge, and experiences of community members; and to equip the community members with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to manage their own programs and projects.
To begin with, they have started with a demonstration project of a poultry unit; that many can come to learn and of course, it will be role down to the majority of the community.
