Group Discussions: A tool to a deeper understanding
At the Institute of Home Economics, the lecturers are encouraging their students to embrace Group discussions system of learning; because they came understand that: they system enhance learning by fostering collaboration, critical thinking, and deeper understanding of a topic. They provide a platform for sharing diverse perspectives, clarifying doubts, and building on each other's ideas, ultimately leading to better knowledge retention and recall. :
From the study conducted last year, they noted that: Group discussions encourage participants to articulate their thoughts clearly and listen actively to others, improving their overall communication abilities; makes participants learn to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and develop their own perspectives, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills; while internalizing the material and retain it better than simply reading or passively listening.
