Asaasiam Vision International continue to advance its Let Girls Excel Africa initiative in Q1 2026 (January-March) by replicating proven strategies from the prior quarter, empowering rural girls across Ghana's Eastern Region. The program delivered career guidance, wellbeing workshops, and emotional support to 50 talented yet impoverished girls from two distinct communities, fostering self-discovery, confident expression, and leadership potential.
Program Overview
The team hosted a comprehensive girls’ career and wellbeing session for 50 selected participants—25 girls from Fodoa M.A. School and 25 girls from Oda Frimpong Manso—directly building on prior successes at these sites. This second-batch engagement equipped the girls to recognise their strengths and societal impact amid economic challenges, led by facilitators Theresah Somuah, Aaliyah Philips, and Joseph.
Key Activities
Interactive workshops covered career paths, personal ambition, and holistic wellbeing for all 50 girls, mirroring the previous quarter's high-impact format. Circle sessions created safe emotional spaces: Aaliyah Philips led at Oda Frimpong Manso, while Theresah Somuah facilitated at Fodoa, with Joseph supporting both, focusing on menstrual health, leadership, and stigma reduction. Both schools received essential menstrual product support and educational materials to promote sustained empowerment.
Impact and Gratitude
These 50 beneficiaries are primed as future changemakers, with school clubs planned for ongoing retention, building on the prior 90% cohort success. The quarter advanced the goals of school retention, confidence-building, and gender equity through targeted resources. Heartfelt thanks to our donors for their generosity, making this impact possible.
The Project Upgrade and Financial Update
The project in 2026 has been updated to include the construction of washrooms and a changing room to create a safe space for girls in school. This update has changed the project's fundraising objectives to reach $ 18,000.
The program continues to impact more vulnerable girls in deprived communities.
This impact is the power of your kind support!
A special Thank you to our doners for your generosity.
