Winter is one of the most crucial and harsh season especially in the war affected and conflict countries, which estimated starting from October to February each year. This year, the winter season in Syria expected to be the worst in 30 years. There are 4 main packages offered in this project: food basket, warming clothes, fuel resources and shelter. This is one of the initiative to make those affected communities feel safe and warm during this upcoming winter.
According to UNHCR, more than 11.1 million people in Syria need humanitarian assistance. During winter in Syria, estimated more than 1.3 million Syrian children will be in danger, despite with temperature predicted to drop to freezing and below in some areas. Winter in Syria can be very harsh and include prolonged periods of snow and temperatures below zero. Displaced families who live in tents or makeshift shelters need help to keep them warm in the proper place especially during this winter.
MRA will provide basic food basket (estimated for 2 to 3 weeks), warming clothes (including blanket or mattress) and also fuel resources (for families). This assistance could help them with the harsh upcoming winter for them to survive.
This winter aid will benefit to more than 7,000 people to support them in improving their quality of life, with the proper preparation for the upcoming winter.
