Let's send 14 participants in care to magical Winter Camp! NPO Mirai no Mori creates life-changing outdoor programs for abused, neglected, and orphaned children in Japan, supporting their growth into happy and successful young adults. With this project, we are hoping to bring back our popular winter camp, where the youth have chance to challenge themselves to gain confidence, to use English to broaden their view, to build life-long relationship with their peers and international caring staff
Sometimes called orphanages in English, children's homes house children from 1 to 18 years old who cannot be supported by their parents. The children receive a safe place to live, along with support to live independent lives. Children's homes do an admirable job of providing a safe place and the basics for living, but most children still struggle with a host of unmet needs. It adds up to a terrible loss of human potential, and real social and economic costs for Japan.
Each program is designed to provide children with experiences, skills, and perspectives that can change their lives for the better, now and for years to come with three core elements: Outdoors, English, and Ongoing mentoring. At winter camp, snow-showing adventure will be a great chance for them to work together and overcome fears in mother nature. Also, international staff will encourage them to speak as much English as possible throughout the camp in a fun way.
Our programs are designed to work together to provide life-changing benefits to marginalized youth. Campers become leaders, empowered to shift a cycle of dysfunction and despair to a cycle of self-actualization and inspiration.
