Prolonged Snowfall and Freezing Conditions in Tbilisi
For the past four consecutive days, Tbilisi has been experiencing heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures. While winter weather can be challenging for the entire city, it creates particularly difficult conditions for children living in vulnerable households.
Many families we support are coping with poorly insulated homes, limited heating, and restricted access to basic winter necessities. Cold weather increases health risks for children and makes daily routines such as attending school or accessing services more difficult. During these days, our work focuses on ensuring children have warm clothing, food support, and a safer environment to endure the cold.
Winter is not just a seasonal inconvenience for these families — it is a period that requires constant attention and care. We continue our daily efforts to support children and their caregivers throughout these harsh conditions and will keep adapting our response as winter continues.
