Care for the caregivers this Giving Tuesday by making sure that the animal care team at VINE Sanctuary has all of the tools and winter gear they need to get through our hardest season.
Winter is a long, cold season in Vermont. At the sanctuary, six people take care of more than six hundred animals. Without proper clothing and tools, their hard work becomes much more difficult. That can degrade the morale of people who pour their hearts and souls into caring for survivors of cruelty and neglect.
We need the gear to implement a new staff benefit this year: A full winter kit, including unlimited gloves. We also need to replace or upgrade shovels and other tools as well a buy a backup generator to run the solar-powered pump on cloudy days, so that nobody has to haul hundreds of gallons of water along icy driveways.
Our animal care team members work hard outdoors in all weather every day, no matter how they feel that day, to make sure all of the turkeys, cows, chickens, sheep, geese, goats, ducks, alpacas, pigeons, pigs, and other animals at VINE have everything they need. In harsh weather, that work seems harder. Every day brings another round of what seems to be an endless circuit of chores. But you can boost morale all season by giving today!
