Dear Friends and Supporters,
Since the funding we had received was minimal and not sufficient to send support to a far located province, we have tried to further seek funds during the 3rd and beginning of 4th quarter of the 2015.
Our field personnel have been in the field during November 2015 and performed a needs assessment. Affected area is situated in the poorest region of the country facing severe winter, including cold temperatures and snowfalls. Upon obtaining 353 USD fund, the decision was to obtain quotations for the winterization items, i.e. blankets, warm cloths, bokhari (local heaters) and wood, to enable effective and efficient management of available financial support.
Our team in collaboration with Afghanaid (a British NGO working in Badakhshan) identified the most needy families suffering of the cold winter in two districts of Badakhshan. We also found out that the hunger prevailing in the area badly affects the population.
We shortly will inform you about the results of distributions in the field.
