The general objective of the project is to develop civil society activities and the voluntariness in the region, through providing applied trainings and micro funds to the local youth between 14-27 ages, on project design-writing, project management, reporting, and social entrepreneurship.
Within the boundaries of the abovementioned long-lasting social problems, Urfa people is struggling socially, economically and culturally. Even though having such deep rooted and common issues awaiting urgent solution, all those problems shows us a way to walk by. The city is the youngest one in Turkey, with an average age 22. This means an incredible youthful potential to be encouraged, trained and mobilized. Currently, this huge potential is unutilized.
The project aims, to develop the concept of young volunteering in civil society in the region, to train and support young participants for creating, developing and running micro-budgeted projects for the benefit of local people, to mobilize the potential energy of local youth in order to contribute to the local development, through inviting and sparking them into civil area.
In short term, through project trainings, youth of the city between the ages 14-27 will be encouraged to be active in civil society and to think more on the problems of the society they belong. In medium and long term, new and young point of views will create new alternative solutions to a wide range of local social issues.
