We have held several successful events since the last update, including the Garden Work Party, Open Day/Bush Dance and the Spring Work Party.
Progress continues to tick along on the kitchen. Like most things at Wollangarra, it's fairly slow going as we try to squeeze in work between running programs. Recently we have been working on paving the verandah, building more sleeper walls, pouring floor footings and relocating the wash up area.
This year we have salvaged a lot of materials from old buildings that we have demolished in the area. All of the materials we bring in are carted up the little walking track and then sent across the river on our flying fox. It's pretty hard yakka, and helping with a project like this certainly gives young people an appreciation of just how rewarding a hard day's work can be.
Everyone who works on the project is a volunteer. When you donate to Wollangarra you know that your hard earned dollars are going straight towards purchasing stuff that we really need, and keeping our course fees affordable in the process.
Thank you to Jorge Flores-Perez, Clement Cureau, Alistair Macrae, Simon John, Meredith Ure, Milda Prusinsk, April Pittman, Andrew Kougl, Nicole Carson and Lina Ekesater for your generous donations this year.
We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and we hope to see you at our annual Fruit Bottling weekend on January 18-19.
