It's been a busy time at Wollangarra these last few months. A fantastic new crew of staff with a wide range of different skills and backgrounds have been getting to know the place and have now jumped straight in to running programs after a successful training period.
The warm weather always brings bountiful harvests from the veggie garden and orchards. Wollangarra had a very successful 'Fruit Bottling' weekend in January where over 60 supporters from near and far came to lend a hand in preserving the many plums, nectarines, tomatoes... It was great to see so many people excited to come and help out, and get to know the new staff - so a big thank-you to anyone who ventured up for the weekend.
Work on the Outdoor Kitchen (ODK) has been progressing nicely, with plans for the next steps almost ready to be put into action. Volunteers and young people have been gettting right into the paving around the verandas of the building and work on the inside floor has begun. It is certainly looking more and more like a proper kitchen - We even have a fully functioning wash up station now! The most exciting progress however is the recent purchase of a gas fridge, purchased with generous donations from supporters. It is proving to be a brilliant fridge (actually keeps things cold!) so a huge thanks to anyone who made a donation.

The latest newsletter is available on the Wollangarra website (see link below) and has lots of detailed information about courses, what's been happening around the flat and on programs, and introductions to the new staff. If time is an issue we are still relying on donations for continuing work on the ODK - so any help in that regard is hugely appreciated.
