Hello lovely Wollangarra supporters!
Woll has been a hive of activity over the past couple of months. Spring has well and truly sprung and a number of work parties and continual hard work by staff, directors and volunteers have left the place looking ship shape.
The outdoor kitchen project is coming along really well and in exciting news… the new wood-fired stove is set in place! It looks very shiny and well crafted and completely at home amongst its new brick and wood surrounds. Although still a work in progress, the building is filled with light and promises to be a pleasure to cook and spend time in!
Many members of the community got to check out the progress at Wollangarra’s open day last weekend. The event was a huge success with folks coming from all around to enjoy the numerous activities – sheep shearing, Clydesdale rides, porridge eating competitions and much more! It is on weekends such as these that the power of the affection and faith many people have in Wollangarra and all that it stands for can be felt. As well as being a great catch up event for tried and true members of the community, there were many new faces at the event, which was fantastic to see!
Courses have been running smoothly with very successful and busy holiday programs just passed. It looks to be a buzzing November ahead, of course nothing the awesome and well-practiced staff and directors can’t handle! For a full report on the latest goings on, and even an update on the latest Wollangarra bird life goings on, please follow the link to the most recent newsletter!
As always, Wollangarra is incredibly grateful for any donations. With projects on the go left right and centre and many young people experiencing all that Wollangarra has to offer each week a little extra money is always extremely appreciated. Or if you would prefer to help out in person, give the staff a call and head up for a weekend or week, volunteers are the mortar that holds it all together! Plus swimming in the Macalister river this time of year is truly brilliant!
Thanks for reading folks!
