The Opportunitie´s Homes project consists of 5 homes for people at risk of social and residential exclusion. Our goal is that users have their basic needs covered (housing and supplies, food, hygiene, medication, transportation) while a socio-educational intervention is carried out to enhance their strengths and support less developed aspects. The ultimate goal is to obtain a job that allows income autonomy to be able to live in shared rental housing. Some 20% of the users are in the last step in which the professionals work with them on a savings plan to be able to achieve this shared rental.
During 2023, the group of people at risk of social and residential exclusion that we usually serve has been joined by people who, even if they have a job (full or part-time), are unable to find shared rental housing, due to the high inflation rate in Spain. This last group is mostly composed of single-mother families. Our homes are at 100% of their capacity, and even the emergency places have been activated due to the current social situation in which we are immersed.
