Empower women to have a brighter future

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear friend,

Goa, known for its pristine beaches, vibrant tourism, and progressive culture, is also home to a section of society that faces numerous challenges. Among these are underprivileged women who often struggle with issues such as poverty, lack of education, unemployment, and gender inequality.

We at El Shaddai feel that it is a right of every woman to not only be empowered but feel empowered. With this mind El Shaddai has started community centers where these women are enrolled in various programs like vocational and educational trainings like tailoring, crochet, mehendi. Through these programs, underprivileged women are allowed to access education, which empowers them to break free from generational poverty and contribute to their families and communities. Many such women have been able to change their lives for the betterment by using these skills and creating jobs not just for themselves but for others too. Every month El shaddai helps empower 95 girls and women to gain employment opportunities

We have many motivating stories of these underprivileged women who decided to not give up and stand for themselves and for their families

One such strong lady is a woman named Mira (name changed). She was married at a very young age. She always felt like a captive. She was not allowed to go anywhere or do anything she liked. One day she came across our medical camp that was being held and through the help of the outreach workers she managed to convince her family to allow her to learn Mehendi as she was very fond of this art. With a lot of perseverance, she managed to attend these classes and she was so good at this skill that the teacher suggested she should start taking orders and she can do this from her home itself and from there on there was no looking back. She is very happy now for she got the freedom of being independent.

The journey of underprivileged women in Goa is one of struggle and hope. By providing education, economic opportunities, and a supportive environment, we can ensure that these women lead empowered and dignified lives.

We express our gratitude for your kind sponsorship towards aiding these women in transforming their lives to a better one.

Your support has made a huge impact, and we are incredibly grateful.

With Gratitude

Sincerely

El Shaddai Family
