Providing Women hope for a brighter tomorrow

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patron,

Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust. We bring to you our latest report on “Transform Lives of Goa’s underprivileged women”.

Women empowerment in India focuses on improving women's social, economic, and political status, aiming for equality and dignity. This involves various initiatives like promoting education, healthcare, and economic independence, alongside legal reforms addressing gender-based violence and discrimination. The overall goal is to enable women to make informed choices, participate fully in society, and challenge gender inequalities.

We at El Shaddai aim to uplift women and not only make them empowered but also feel empowered. These women can choose the type of programs they are interested in like mehendi, tailoring, crochet, etc. through these programs, they can learn and use these skills to help them and their families financially.

Through the El Shaddai programs, women have been able to change their lives for the betterment by using these skills and creating jobs not just for themselves but for others too.

Till date El Shaddai has helped empower 46,847 women and 10,650 women have acquired employment opportunities. We have many inspiring stories of strong women who made the decision to change their lives forever.

One such woman is a lady named Arti(name changed). She got married at an early age and the untimely demise of her husband left her to lead a life of hardship managing her home and bringing up her children all by herself. She used to struggle every day as she could not even go out to work. But one day she came across one of our staff who led her to our community shelter where she learnt the art of Mehandi. She learnt new beautiful designs and her designs were appreciated by one and all. She decided to start her own Mehendi workshop and also take orders for weddings and other occasions. She could do all this from her home itself and is now financially stable and happy.

El Shaddai aims to inspire, educate, and empower all  such women to change thier lives to a better one.

We can help and reach out to all such women and many others through your help and support towards the work we do.

We sincerely appreciate your generous contribution in helping underprivileged women to invest in their dreams and in building a brighter tomorrow

With Gratitude

Sincerely
