Project Report | Mar 17, 2026
A nurturing space for women to learn and succeed.

By Azeem Christopher | Project Leader

AWARD Pakistan continues to make significant progress in empowering women and girls in Warispura, Faisalabad, where cultural norms and economic challenges often limit women’s opportunities beyond household roles. To address this, AWARD is developing a multi-story vocational training centre designed to equip marginalized women with practical skills, enabling financial independence and social empowerment.

In the most recent training cycle, 120 women and girls successfully participated in various skill-based courses. Among them, 48 received training in beauty skills, and 20 now offer home-based services. In stitching, 18 women were trained, of whom 10 have started earning or established small businesses. A total of 12 participants completed computer literacy training, with 5 securing freelance opportunities. Additionally, 42 women were trained in bike riding, with 30 reporting increased mobility and independence in their daily lives.

To ensure a holistic learning experience, participants were also engaged in a recreational trip, followed by end-of-course assessments. Certificates were awarded during a formal ceremony, recognizing their dedication and achievements. The centre also organized a breast cancer awareness session, promoting health awareness and preventive care among women.

With growing demand, AWARD Pakistan is preparing to enroll the next batch, extending these transformative opportunities to more women from Warispura and surrounding rural areas.

Despite these successes, the project requires USD 13,793 to complete the construction of the training centre, including a residential hostel. This facility is essential for women traveling from distant areas who lack safe accommodation, ensuring inclusive access for school dropouts and underserved women.

We sincerely appeal to the GlobalGiving community and our valued supporters to help bridge this funding gap. Your support will enable women to gain critical skills, achieve economic independence, and build a more empowered and resilient future for themselves and their communities in Faisalabad.
