Build Workshop for Physically Disabled Burkinabes

I Introduction

Since the beginning of March TN has carried out activities in several areas, including the completion of project 19031.

II Activities carried out

During this period, TN carried out the following activities:

• Holding meetings

• Reception and execution of orders for works of art and restoration;Discussion meeting on Zoom with the president of the organization Monde Sans Limites (M.S.L) for a future partnership;

• Covered with a layer of cement (paving) over the entire courtyard;

• Raising members' awareness of the social scourges of daily life.

• Writing of a project being finalized to submit to Lafi Burkina,

II. 2 Resource mobilization

• She received money from orders for catering services and works;

• Settlement of the loan.

III Difficulties encountered

During this period, TN experienced the following difficulties:

• The majority of members are sick;

• Insufficient orders;

• Insufficient resource people to properly manage the structure.

• The fear of certain members, faced with rumors about insecurity in Burkina Faso.

IV Results achieved

• The entire courtyard is covered with a layer of cement (paving) and this greatly facilitates the mobility of disabled people;

• TN received orders for educational toys, musical instruments, soft toys, pyrography key rings, leaf holders and leather ladies bags, bronze statutes, cushion covers,

• In total 14 members were each paid 80% of the order for their works;

• 13 were paid for ordering catering services

• Contribution of the financial autonomy of 27 members in total.

  V Perspective

 Recruit a resource person to support the coordinator in carrying out her work;

• Open a functional coffee shop kiosk six days a week at TN headquarters;
• Continue to receive financial assistance from GlobalGiving to carry out the construction of workshops, a large training room and a large shed in the courtyard;
• Organize two open days each quarter to raise awareness of Tigoung Nonma and sell its products.

VI Conclusion

Despite the context of growing insecurity in Burkina, TN works daily for the happiness and well-being of its members.

I Introduction

From November 2023 to February 2024, TN was able to carry out activities under the project. It also encountered operating difficulties.

II Activities carried out

As part of the project, TN held meetings, executive board meetings and the committee to plan activities to be carried out;  Before TN moved to its final headquarters, it installed electricity in the buildings;  TN has moved into its permanent headquarters and carried out the following rearrangements

• Purchase of land for backfilling the courtyard;

• Decorative and advertising printing on a panel (portico);

• Repair of the kiosk;

• Purchase of cement, sand and tiles to tile two offices and the terrace.

 Organization of a General Assembly (GA) This AG meeting aimed to:

• Show the final headquarters to all members;

• Present them with the activity and financial reports during the year 2023;

• Identify sick members for their care in the health project.

• Raise awareness among members not to give in to the vices of society whatever the situation in which everyone finds themselves.

• Strengthen and advocate social cohesion and solidarity between members;

• And finally, propose activities to be carried out in the headquarters despite the absence of workshops at the moment.

II. 2 Resource mobilization

TN received funds on the project;She benefited from orders for restoration and orders for art objects.

III Difficulties encountered During this period, TN experienced the following difficulties:

Doors closed for a long time and humidity have deteriorated the interior of the buildings.

Despite the multiple embankments, some of the terrain still remains inaccessible over its entire surface;

Due to lack of regular activities and late payment of our invoices (public procurement orders), our cash flow has experienced a sharp decline. This resulted in the use of part of the project money. This borrowed amount will be reimbursed upon payment of our public order invoices

* Lack of resource person to assist the coordinator in her tasks because she is often unwell and has health issues. 

IV Results achieved

TN has set up its own headquarters, located in district 8 of Ouagadougou, in sector 35 in the Nonghin district next to the Saint Augustin de Bissigin parish;

Operating expenses have decreased (No more rent payments);

The road leading to the new headquarters is still being rehabilitated by the ministry in charge of infrastructure.

The visibility of Tigoung Nonma is reinforced, especially in its locality;

Improvement in the financial autonomy of certain members, especially those who provide catering.

TN receives appreciation, encouragement from many people and partners for the acquisition of its own headquarters

V Perspective

Open a single account for GlobalGiving projects;

Recruit a resource person to support or replace the coordinator in her tasks if TN has the financial means for this;

Update the Tigoung Nonma action plan;

Opening of a coffee and catering sales kiosk operational six days a week.

Still receive funds from GlobalGiving to finalize the remaining activities for the headquarters such as: Construction of workshops, a large training room, meeting Backfill and pave the entire courtyard and its front, etc.

Organize two open days each quarter to raise awareness of Tigoung Nonma and sell its products.
