I-Introduction
Since the approval of Project 19031, Tigoung Nonma has been committed to strengthening the autonomy and inclusion of people with disabilities. The goal is to raise USD 49,500 to acquire Tigoung Nonma's headquarters, build infrastructure and workshops accessible to people with disabilities, particularly its disabled artisans, in order to facilitate wheelchair mobility for economic activities.
These funds are mobilized as activities progress.
Project actions are subject to quarterly reports to track their progress. This report, covering the second quarter of 2025, presents the funds raised to date, the activities carried out, the results achieved, and the members' prospects for development and autonomy.
II- Funds collected and activities carried out
Since the beginning of the project, funds have been gradually mobilized to support the planned activities.
- We received a total of eight (8) fund transfers
- In addition, the balance carried forward.
- These funds amount to four hundred and thirty-three thousand five hundred and nine (433,509) CFA francs.
These resources have enabled:
Miscellaneous purchases (Purchase of cement, sheet metal, rafters, sheet metal stakes, tie rods, 80 stakes, sand, gravel, purchase of two doors and two windows, purchase of 300 bricks, purchase of rafters, sand, lintels, tar, paint + labor, etc.) from:
Complete the first workshop, including the installation and painting of openings (doors and windows). ü Start construction of the second workshop, including plastering work and the installation of painted openings.
The acquisition of the Tigoung Nonma headquarters, which constitutes the basis of the project's activities, was finalized in 2018. The funds received during this period therefore directly contributed to the gradual completion of the workshops and progress towards the project's objectives.
III-Results obtained
Thanks to the funds raised and the activities carried out during this quarter, the project has made concrete progress. These efforts have enabled:
- Complete the first workshop with the installation and painting of openings (windows and doors).
- Build and plaster the second workshop, with the openings painted.
- These achievements represent important steps towards achieving the set objectives, while paving the way for the installation of artisans and the future opening of workshops
VI-Perspectives
- Continue fundraising to achieve the objectives set for this project.
- Develop economic activities, such as catering and the installation of artisans in workshops, to improve the financial independence of members.
- Relaunch and consolidate the sale of edible ice creams, in coordination with the financial partner, to support the well-being of members and the partnership.
V-Difficulties encountered
- The limited funds raised, which consist of only small amounts, prevent a rapid acceleration of the construction of the workshops.
- With the rainy season, especially during the months of August and September, the main road leading to the headquarters deteriorated considerably, making it difficult for people with disabilities to travel by tricycle.
VI-Conclusion
Despite the challenges encountered, this period has been rich in progress for the project. The completion of the first workshop and the construction of the second are a testament to the commitment and perseverance of all involved. Current and future economic activities strengthen the financial autonomy of members and contribute to the sustainability of the project. These positive results encourage continued efforts and the mobilization of more resources to fully achieve the set objectives, for the benefit of members and partners.
VII-Acknowledgments
Tigoung Nonma would like to express deep gratitude to all partners and donors for their continued support since the project's approval. Thanks to your support, the headquarters has been acquired, the courtyard made accessible, and work on the workshops is well underway. Your contribution is essential to finalizing the workshops, installing the artisans, and opening the restaurant. We sincerely thank you and encourage you to continue this support to fully realize the vision of autonomy and effective inclusion of people with disabilities in Burkina Faso.
