On World Hepatitis Day-July 28, we'll set up pop-up clinics in high-risk communities to find the "missing millions" living with undiagnosed viral hepatitis. Our campaign will offer free, rapid testing for Hepatitis B & C,provide on-the-spot counseling, administer free Hepatitis B vaccinations & link those who test positive to lifesaving treatment. This single-day blitz is a critical intervention to prevent cirrhosis, liver cancer & needless death by turning awareness into direct, lifesaving action.
Viral hepatitis is a silent but deadly disease. Many people live for years without knowing they are infected until severe liver damage occurs. The WHO estimates millions remain undiagnosed, especially in low-income and high-risk communities. Limited access to screening, poor awareness, and fear of stigma prevent early detection. Without testing and vaccination, hepatitis leads to liver cirrhosis, cancer, and premature death that could have been prevented.
This project brings free hepatitis services directly to the community through pop-up clinics. We will conduct rapid Hepatitis B and C testing, provide immediate counseling, offer free Hepatitis B vaccination, and link positive cases to treatment centers. By removing cost, distance, and fear barriers, the project ensures early detection and prevention. Immediate action on World Hepatitis Day turns awareness into lifesaving intervention.
Early detection and vaccination significantly reduce hepatitis-related deaths and long-term complications. Communities gain better knowledge of liver health and prevention practices. Linked patients can begin treatment before irreversible damage occurs. In time, repeated outreach reduces transmission, lowers healthcare costs, and strengthens public health systems. This project helps move communities closer to hepatitis elimination while saving lives that would otherwise be lost silently.
