Yachana Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes education and sustainability in the Ecuadorian Amazon. This institutional development fund allows donors to contribute to a general fund that will be used to provide funding to sustain education enrichment and development projects that are the mainstay of the foundation.
The two provinces where Yachana works are the two lowest in educational achievement in the country. Without outside funding it will not be possible to offer educational alternatives in this region. The existence of a standing-fund is required to support planning, promotion, and implementation of projects that will fulfill the mission of the fund.
This fund provides a way for donors to assure that funds can be channeled to projects and provide the kind of permanent ongoing support that allows projects to be nurtured and grown over time.
Since 1991 Yachana Foundation has committed to improving the lives of the indigenous and mestizo populations of the Ecuadorian Amazon through education and opportunity creation. Through this Yachana Foundation Fund the current and future portfolio of programs can continue for decades and Yachana can focus their efforts to create new opportunities through its work in education, conservation, ecotourism and provide countless community development initiatives.
