Project Report | Mar 11, 2024
Thank you for your generous donation and greetings from Puerto Rico!

By Anelis Torres Rivera | Development Account Manager

We greatly appreciate your support for the children and youth in our community.

During the last period,  Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico has continued its commitment to positively impact the lives of young people on the island. With over 56 years of experience,  we have reached more than 90,000 children and youth,  many of whom come from communities facing poverty.

Our flagship program, Youth of the Year, has been instrumental in guiding our young people toward personal, professional, and academic success.  Through this program, we have nurtured inspiring leaders who become catalysts for change in their schools and communities.

In addition to academic education, we recognize the importance of socio-emotional development and mental health among our participants. In collaboration with allies such as College Board LATAM,  we have facilitated access to university entrance exams and provided guidance on the college admission process.

We have also continued to promote a healthy lifestyle among our participants, emphasizing the importance of nutrition and physical and emotional well-being.

Recently, we launched the AWARE project (Advanced Well-being and Resilience in Education) in partnership with various organizations. This project aims to promote the socio-emotional development of thousands of young people in Puerto Rico, educating them about mental health, suicide prevention, and violence prevention in the school environment, and offering universal prevention programs with different levels of intervention.

The achievements of our participants are a testament to the impact of our efforts. Many of them now succeed in various professional fields, including engineering, sciences, healthcare, business, and the arts.

In summary, Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico continues to work tirelessly to provide meaningful opportunities for the comprehensive development of youth on the island, ensuring a brighter future for all. And you have been a fundamental part of these achievements.  We invite you to learn more details through these additional reports.
