Dear Donor,
Çagdas Yasam Destekleme Dernegi (ÇYDD) launched the “You Can Light a Candle Too” (BISY) Project in 1995 as part of its University Scholarship Program, with the aim of supporting university students across Türkiye.
Since its inception, the BISY Project has enabled 68,884 university students to graduate, including 48,414 female and 20,470 male students. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 9,347 university students received scholarships through the project. In the 2025–2026 academic year, 9,239 students are receiving scholarships through the Headquarters quota.
In addition, ÇYDD branches are supporting 6,093 more university students. As a result, the total number of university scholarship recipients for the 2025–2026 academic year has reached 15,332 students.
We are also pleased to share that 933 new female university students, who are graduates of ÇYDD-supported high schools, have been admitted to university through the “From High School to University” (LÜP) Project. This project ensures that any ÇYDD-supported female high school graduate who gains admission to a university—even years after graduation—remains eligible for a university scholarship until she completes her degree.
