In our last update, we told you we were waiting for the interim funding approved by the Sofia Municipality. We are happy to share that, since July, those funds have started to arrive. It is a real milestone: for the first time, public money is supporting the work our nurses do in some of Bulgaria’s most vulnerable homes.
But we want to be honest with you. The municipal funding is limited. It gives us a foundation, but not everything families need, and not the stability to grow. Your support remains essential.
The Newest Member of Our NFP Family
The baby in this photo is the most recent child born within our program. Her mother is still a minor herself, and the pregnancy was a high-risk one. For a young girl facing pregnancy without the knowledge, resources or support most of us take for granted, the months before birth could have been frightening and isolating.
Instead, she had a nurse by her side. Someone who visited regularly, answered her questions, watched for warning signs, and helped her prepare for what was coming. Today, she is a mother learning to care for her newborn, and she is not doing it alone.
This is what NFP is for. And this is what your donations make possible.
Why Your Support Still Matters
Public funding is a vital step, but it does not cover everything. The needs of the families we serve are great, and limited budgets mean difficult choices. Your donations give us the flexibility to respond fully, to reach more young mothers, and to make sure no family falls through the gaps.
A monthly gift, however small, is the most reliable way to help. It allows us to plan ahead, sustain our nurses’ work, and be there for the next young mother who needs us.
Please consider becoming a monthly donor. Together, we can make sure the next decade of NFP reaches even further than the first.
