You make life better for so many people!

By Kurt Dahlin | Founder & President

Joice, with white bucket, crossing the river.

This is no exaggeration.

You really do improve and save lives through your support of WWFA.

There’s proof that WWFA’s water wells transform lives – from lives of sickness and drudgery …to good health and time for positive activities!

One lady (in her early fifties) we met a couple of months ago, Joice from Midiani Village, is a great example of how your investment in WWFA water wells changes EVERYTHING for the people who receive it.

Prior to getting a WWFA water well, the 100 households from her village drew water from a river (that often floods and gets contaminated), a rooftop, and the nearby village of Namalamba. Unfortunately, to reach the neighboring village, they had to cross a river with dangerous terrain. Joice told us that when she and other women tried to cross the river it was dangerous and many of them have injured themselves and their buckets have broken.

When the women did arrive safely at Namalamba they had a lengthy wait to draw their water, and then they had to turn around and make the 1.5 hour trek back to Mediani.

Our Malawi WWFA Team tells us it was not a difficult decision to approve the installation of the well in Midiani. They clearly needed it.

Now, Joice and all the women are so happy to have a clean water source IN THEIR OWN VILLAGE. They don’t mind if there’s a long line with their fellow residents. They simply sit on their bucket until it’s their turn – you can see the photo below depicting this scene.

Now the women have so much more time that they can devote to caring for their family, tending gardens, and some are talking about starting a small business.

I hope you can see, your donations to WWFA are an investment in PEOPLE!

Thank you for being the kind of person who cares about people in Africa like Joice and takes action.
