Lady Mitz Foundation (LMF) is Partnering with GlobalGiving to raise funds for our Youth Farming to Eliminate Hunger in Rural Nigeria project for 2022. This Project aims to provide opportunities for 20 young adults ages 18-35, to be trained in food farming and enterprise. This will boost livelihood for them and their community. On September 13th, 2021, please join us using the link below to donate and help us fund our project. Also, help us in reaching our goal to continue our Partnership.
Hunger remains one of the biggest problems for Nigerians today. More than half of the country lives below the poverty line, especially in marginalized communities like Umunoha. Youths there can be easily lured into danger due to lack of jobs and infrastructures to help them on their quest for better lives. These problems became more prominent following the COVID-19 pandemic and #ENDSARS protests.
LMF Youth Project will empower 20 unemployed youths in the Umunoha community through farming. We will train and equip them with modern farming skills to alleviate them from hunger and also provide a source of livelihood for them to be free from poverty. This project will also, increase their self-esteem, boost their confidence, strengthen their peer relations, increase their social awareness, interaction and networking with peers amongst other skills. These youth will no longer be vulnerable.
LMF Youth Farming Project will impact 20 youths with farming skills thereby helping them to be free from hunger and poverty. This will also lead to a decrease in social vices among the youths and bring about an increase in food production and availability in Umunoha. The number of at-risk youths who have no jobs, no income will reduce. Number of vulnerable youths who are lured into danger due to hunger will reduce. This Project will also boast the economy of this community and improve lives.
