This summer brought another exciting chapter in our effort to make youth soccer more accessible to children in the Greater Omaha community.
We are grateful to share that our Summer 2026 Soccer Camp welcomed more than 120 participants. Over several weeks, children came together to learn, play, make new friends, improve their soccer skills, and build confidence in an encouraging environment. Parents, volunteers, coaches, and supporters all contributed to making the program possible.
More Than Soccer
Our goal has never been simply to teach children how to kick a ball.
Through soccer, we are creating opportunities for children to be physically active while developing teamwork, confidence, resilience, leadership, communication, sportsmanship, and a sense of belonging. These are the same long-term youth-development outcomes at the heart of our GlobalGiving project.
Throughout the camp, children practiced foundational soccer skills, participated in drills and games, learned to work together, and experienced the joy of being part of a team. For some participants, programs like this provide an affordable entry point into organized sports that might otherwise be difficult for their families to access.

Growing the Opportunity
The success of this summer's camp reinforces something we continue to see: families want accessible, positive, and affordable opportunities for their children to participate in organized sports.
Our GlobalGiving project has an ambitious goal—to expand soccer access to 1,000 children by helping provide training, equipment, and opportunities to participate regardless of background or financial circumstances.
As participation grows, so do our needs. Additional support helps us provide soccer balls and training equipment, secure playing spaces, support coaching and volunteer coordination, provide participant resources, and keep programs affordable for families.
Most importantly, it allows us to continue creating spaces where children can play, learn, belong, and discover what they are capable of accomplishing.
Thank You for Making This Possible
To every donor, parent, volunteer, coach, community partner, and supporter: thank you.
Your support is doing more than putting soccer balls on a field. It is helping children stay active, develop friendships, gain confidence, learn teamwork, and experience the encouragement of caring adults and a supportive community.
Every child who steps onto the field brings us one step closer to our vision of ensuring that financial circumstances or background do not determine whether a child gets the opportunity to play and grow through sport.
We are excited to continue building on this momentum and expanding opportunities for even more children.
Thank you for believing in our kids and in the power of sport to strengthen communities.
With gratitude,
Habitat & Education Promotion Team
