New Year Updates

By Trang Tran | Public Relation Officer

A Hopeful Start to the New Year

The new year has begun with wonderful news from the forests of Vân Ho, Son La Province. The White-cheeked Gibbon family has welcomed a new member —a rare and hopeful sign for this endangered species.

During a recent field visit, PanNature staff and primate photographers observed a group of White-cheeked Gibbons, including a female carrying a newborn estimated to be just a few weeks old. This precious moment brings the total population in Vân Ho to 19 individuals, up from 18 recorded during PanNature’s comprehensive survey in July 2024. Today, four small groups continue to survive within this forest landscape.

Each newborn gibbon is powerful evidence of the value of protected forests—and a strong reminder that conservation efforts truly make a difference.

Celebrating 20 Years of PanNature

On the evening of January 5, 2026, PanNature proudly celebrated its 20th Anniversary with representatives from government agencies, partners, sponsors, and generations of current and former staff who have walked this journey with us.

For two decades, your trust and support have helped PanNature protect forests, safeguard wildlife, and work alongside communities for sustainable futures. What we have achieved together is the foundation for what comes next.

Join Us for the Next 20 Years Ahead

As we look to the future, our work is far from finished. The survival of species like the White-cheeked Gibbon—and the health of Vietnam’s forests—depends on continued commitment and long-term action.

Your donation helps PanNature strengthen its capacity, expand conservation efforts, and protect nature for generations to come.
Join us in writing the next chapter of our journey—20 years ahead for nature, people, and the planet we share.

Support PanNature on GlobalGiving and help us keep hope growing.
